In this video, I answer the web's most searched questions about teaching. The Best Review Game for Any Class

The Best Review Game for Any Class

I tend to avoid games in math class because they usually just reward the kids who can think the fastest. Trashketball is a little different. Kids are in teams of 2-3, a question is posed, and students work together to answer it. Only one person can write on the dry erase board per question. Students who answer correctly, get a chance to shoot a trashket (wadded up paper into the garbage). Different distances from the garbage are worth different points. Next question is a different person writing on the dry erase board and the game continues. I got this idea…

Students Put on FIRST ESPORTS COMPETITION!

At my school, we have something called Project Week where students take a week off from classes to do a project of their choice. This year, I'm working with students doing esports related projects. Each student is doing an independent project as well as working collaboratively to put on a city-wide competition. As sort of a practice run, the students put on a video game competition at our school in preparation for the larger competition they will host for gamers in the city of Austin. Both tournaments are Super Smash Bro. Ultimate tournaments. This video is documenting that 'practice-run' tournament.…

Thinking Through Fear of Failure | Jiu Jitsu Vlog

Thinking Through Fear of Failure | Jiu Jitsu Vlog

I figured the end of summer would be the ideal time for me to do a BJJ competition being that I'm out of school and have more time to devote to training. I have a little less than 2 weeks until the competition. In this video I reflect a bit on working through my fear of failure and general frustrations with my own progress lately. https://youtu.be/h5s2c-NZAcI

Training For My 1st Jiu Jitsu Competition | 4 Weeks Left

I figured the end of summer would be the ideal time for me to do a BJJ competition being that I'm out of school and have more time to devote to training. I have a little less than 4 weeks left from my first competition and want to share the progress. Hoping to make these vlogs accessible to those who may not even know anything about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I want to win, but I recognize that I'll learn something from a loss as well...at least that's what I'm hoping to remember ;) https://youtu.be/11xMk73bPu4 I did recently do a podcast…
